The legendary hip hop group, A Tribe Called Quest released their sixth studio album, We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service in November 2016. Which, in fact will be their last album. (Rest on to Phife Dawg). The artists credited on the album are Andre 3000, Busta Rhymes, Marsha Ambrosius, Casey Benjamin, Talib Kweli, Elton John, Talib Kweli, Kendrick Lamar, Anderson Paak, Kanye West, and Jack White. The album was mainly produced by Q-Tip, and co-produced by their longtime engineer Blair Wells. From “Space Program” to “The Donald” it is nothing short of creative ,witty— filled lyrical greatness. “Kids” has so much replay value. You almost do not want to move on to the next track, because of how Andre 3000 is flowing over the song. Smooth as butter cadence, mixed with that easily recognizable vocal infliction. Can we also talk about how much Busta Rhymes went ballistic lyrically on “Mobius”? Because he murdered his entire verse. All of Phife Dawg’s, Q-Tip’s, and Jarobi’s bars were all bullets to the target. Eclectic sounds ranging from jazz/R&B/rock made this a solid album from beginning to end. If you’re a hip hop lover, get into your favorite rapper’s favorite group.
