The Grammy award winning musician Robert Glasper teamed up with the late iconic Miles Davis’ estate and record label for the project Everything’s Beautiful, which is to be released on May 27th. One of the songs from the album is called “Violets”. It samples the late trumpet player’s “Blue in Green” from the album Kind of Blue. The song features hip hop veterans, MC Phonte from Foreign Exchange and producer 9th Wonder. The album blends samples of Davis’ masters of outtake riffs from sessions at Columbia Records from 1955-1985. The jazz pianist also did the musical score, and soundtrack for the Miles Davis biopic film Miles Ahead. The film is directed and co-written by actor Don CheadleEverything’s Beautiful will feature artists Stevie Wonder, John Scofield, Erykah Badu, Bilal, and many more.
